May 9, 2018, B.C. - Thirty-four more firefighters are being added to a crew battling one of the first troublesome blazes of B.C.'s young wildfire season. The fire is in the far northwestern corner of the province, about 70 kilometres southwest of Dease Lake.

It has scorched about three-square kilometres of grass and bush since it was spotted on Saturday but the wildfire service says it is not considered a threat to public safety.

Along with the additional firefighters, the wildfire service says in a tweet that an air tanker and helicopter are supporting the 12-person crew originally assigned to the blaze.
