May 19, 2016 – Time is running out for fire departments to submit their applications to win four sets of Globe turnout gear.

Eligible departments – those in Canada and the United States with volunteer membership greater than 50 per cent and serving populations of 25,000 or less – are asked to submit their applications to the National Volunteer Fire Council by June 1.

Globe, in partnership with the NVFC and DuPont Protection Technologies, is giving away 52 sets of gear to 13 departments over the next year as part of the fifth annual Globe Gear Giveaway.

Last year, L'Original Fire Department in Champlain, Ont., was one of the 13 departments selected to receive the turnout gear; all four sets went to new rookies in the department.
