July 8, 2019, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. – A pizzeria was destroyed by fire early Monday in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu in the Montérégie region.
An explosion was heard coming from the establishment on St-Jacques St. at about 1 a.m. and the fire broke out soon after.
No one was injured but damage to the pizzeria is substantial.
While the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, firefighters found sufficient evidence to lead them to believe the fire could have been set deliberately.
