Brantford firefighters equipped with Naloxone

Brantford firefighters are stepping up efforts to support the Fentanyl Can Kill campaign. More than 100 firefighters in the city are now are able to administer naloxone, an emergency medication that reverses the effects of a fentanyl overdose. The firefighters have received training to use the narcan nasal spray, which works with the same drug as needle-based naloxone kits but can be less difficult to apply. 

Naloxone is available free at the Brant County Health Unit and in more than nine pharmacies throughout Brantford and Brant County. The Brantford Expositor reports. | READ MORE
