Catastrophic flooding in Grand Forks, B.C.

May 14, 2018, Grand Forks, B.C. — First responders are calling the flooding in the Grand Forks, B.C., area catastrophic and the largest event they expect to respond to in
their careers.

Firefighters went  house to house yesterday and rescued more than30 people by boat.

Premier John Horgan has spoken with Grand Forks Mayor Frank Konrad and says Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth would tour the area yesterday.

Three of the region’s rivers hav e all broken 1948 water levelrecords by about 60 centimetres.
