Farm Credit Canada provides $12,000 grant to Hanover Fire Department

July 9, 2024, Hanover, Ont. — The Hanover Fire Department has received a $12,000 grant from Farm Credit Canada (FCC) through their 2023 AgriSpirit Fund.

The funding was used to purchase a new auto extrication air bag lifting system, the city reported in a press release.

The FCC AgriSpirit Fund was created to fund capital projects in rural communities, supporting projects in locations home to less than 150,000 people.

Other fire department projects include the town of Bashaw in Alberta receiving $15,000 to purchase wildfire fire and grain entrapment equipment and the municipality of Central Huron purchasing a dryer for personal protective equipment with a $13,500 grant.

Applications are currently closed by will reopen in the spring of 2025.
