Firefighters’ union wants better security after fire truck theft

Dec. 4, 2019, Winnipeg – The head of Winnipeg’s firefighters union says security measures were in place when one of their trucks was stolen and driven wildly through downtown last week. Alex Forrest, president of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, said the person managed to override the security system — a system put in place a decade ago, the last time a fire truck was stolen.
