Dec. 2, 2024, Manitoba — The Manitoba government is investing in a new mobile training trailer that will allow more than 5000 firefighters across the province access to year-round fire and rescue training closer to home.

Manitoba does not currently have a training trailer in the province, requiring them to borrow one from the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association when needed.

Manitoba will join Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta as the only provinces with fire rescue training trailers.

“This is important new training infrastructure that will ensure Manitoba firefighters have greater access to the skills and resources they need to protect themselves, their fellow firefighters and the public,” said Glen Simard, minister of municipal and northern relations, in a press release.
