May 13, 2016, Guelph, Ont. - Tenants displaced after an apartment building fire in Guelph, Ont., may be able to return home Friday.

Police say the fire broke out in an electrical panel on the seventh floor of a 13-storey building (on Quebec Street) Thursday morning and was quickly extinguished.

The building had to be evacuated and in the end, only those living on the fifth floor or below were allowed to stay in their homes.

The Red Cross provided accommodations for the others. Police say those residents may be able to come back today, pending review.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
