Man dies in Montreal duplex fire

Dec. 16, 2019, Montreal – A duplex in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough in Montreal was engulfed in flames, forcing about 20 people out early Saturday. A man in his 70s was taken to a hospital in cardio-respiratory arrest, according to Marie-Ève ​​Beausoleil, head of section at the Montreal Fire Department, but it is not known whether he is a tenant or the owner of the premises.
