Neebing municipal council selects new acting fire chief, three deputy chiefs

July 16, 2024, Neebing, Ont. — Mark Shruiff has been appointed as acting fire chief for the Neebing Emergency Services department in Ontario.

The appointment comes after current Fire Chief Dale Ashbee stepped down from his role, though he will continue to serve as an active member of the department, the council said in a media statement.

In the same statement the council announced that Meghan Forneri, Cody Cheesman, and Jeff Lafontaine have been appointed as deputy fire chiefs to fill out the administrative team.

Chief Shruiff has been a member of the department since 2021. He assumed the top position on July 1.
