Ontario government now accepting applications for Fire Protection Grant

July 24, 2024, Ontario — Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 Fire Protection Grant and will be open until September 5 at 5 p.m. EST.

The announcement, made by the office of the Ontario fire marshal, marks the first round of application acceptance after the provincial government introduced the grant in the 2024 budget.

The grant was designed to support cancer prevention efforts by municipal fire departments across Ontario, assisting in the acquisition of critical equipment or personal protective gear and supporting minor infrastructure projects.

Departments can also use funds to enhance broadband and internet connectivity to modernize their fire hall.

The grant will be awarded over three years with a total of $10 million available each year, with calls for applications taking place annually.
