Headlines NewsOct. 2, 2019, Winnipeg, Man. – Red Friday and Fort Garry Fire Trucks are looking for 10,000 firefighters to take the Firefighter Mental Wellness Survey. The results will measure the effectiveness of first responder-specific mental health programs and initiatives across Canada.
The survey was formally introduced and launched in July at the Fire Fighters’ Association of Ontario (FFAO) AGM and Convention in Paris, Ont.
Occupational Safety and Health Officer for the FFAO, Jeri Ottley said in a news release, “This series of surveys will be the first to provide purely Canada wide data on first responder mental wellness programs, and that is going to be invaluable.”
Red Friday will run six North American surveys over three years measuring the success and direction of mental wellness initiatives. The data will first be provided to all fire services and then made public.
