Study recommends centralizing Leeds and Grenville fire departments

Mar. 11, 2021, Brockville, Ont. – A major study of firefighting in Leeds and Grenville recommends that the 13 municipal fire departments be amalgamated into one. The report, commissioned by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, would see the 10 volunteer township fire departments and those of Brockville, Prescott and Gananoque melded into a “single, centrally managed” department under the command of a single fire chief.
