May 16, Toronto – Toronto Fire Services (TFS) announced it has maintained accreditation status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) following the Commission’s acceptance of its Annual Compliance Report (ACR). The ACR was submitted in February and was validated by CFAI representatives in April. The city of Toronto is the largest city with an accredited fire service in North America.

CFAI accreditation is third-party confirmation of TFS’ commitment to continuously monitor performance, evaluate results against best practices and deliver fire protection services that meet the needs of Toronto residents.

The CFAI accreditation program provides a framework for fire services to set goals, develop evidence-based strategic action plans and improve fire protection services
