Toronto firefighters no longer allowed to use CPAP machines on overnight shifts

April 7, 2020, Toronto – Toronto firefighters on overnight shifts are no longer allowed to use CPAP machines at work. Late last week, the Toronto Sun learned that city firefighters who use Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines while they sleep will be moved to day shifts, and their use no longer allowed in TFS sleeping barracks.

The decision, said Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg, came at the advice of the fire service’s chief medical officer. The Toronto Sun reports. | READ MORE
