Oct. 26, 2025, Ottawa, Ont. – HeroBrain, a Canadian initiative dedicated to first responder wellness, is testing a new approach to mental fitness using NeurOptimal Neurofeedback technology.

Following the initial Cloud Nine Project in Lambton County, 20 first responder participants reported feeling more focused, clear-headed and steady after using the system.

A follow-on program, Calm Minds Save Lives, extended the technology to families of firefighters, EMS and police. Participants reported experiencing better moods, less anxiety, deeper sleep and improved anger management. Several users also noted a reduction in tinnitus. The neurofeedback process is non-invasive and requires minimal training.

HeroBrain is inviting departments across Canada to test the technology through the HeroBrain Free Pilot Contest. The program provides winning teams with a three-month in-house system rental and support.
