Sept. 25, 2013, Regina – Not to gush, but we’re pretty pleased about our publishing partnership with the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs.

The deal was announced this morning in Regina, on Day 4 of the CAFC’s Fire-Rescue Canada conference.

Essentially, we’re folding the CAFC’s magazine into Fire Fighting in Canada twice a year – in February and September – in advance of the CAFC’s government relations week in March and annual fall conference.

What does it mean? Well, for the CAFC, the partnership provides a broader reach, to every fire department in Canada, our subscribers, our web viewers and our social media followers. The CAFC also benefits from our editorial and sales expertise and connections, and our production and distribution avenues.

For us, the deal is about relationships with fire-service leaders who are making change and moving forward. We already have strong relationships with dozens of chief fire officers who help us better understand the issues affecting fire departments. But fresh voices and different perspectives keep us on our toes, and help us provide more well-rounded coverage.

As I said this morning to delegates here in Regina, and to gush a bit more, our mandate at FFIC is to be the No. 1 resource for the Canadian fire service. The CAFC’s mandate is to be the voice of the Canadian fire service. Together, we will do both of those things better.
