Elizabethtown-Kitley appoints new fire chief

Headlines News Employment and hiring fire chiefJan. 22, 2024, Elizabethtown-Kitley, Ont. – Jeff Sargent is the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley’s new fire chief.
He joined Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire & Emergency Services (EKFD) in 1996 and was promoted to captain a decade later in 2006. He was recently promoted to acting deputy fire chief before landing the role of fire chief.
“As a township resident and a long-time member of EKFD, I am enthusiastic about this opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve my community in this role,” said Chief Jeff Sargent in a town press release. “Thank you to the mayor, council, staff and our members for placing their trust in me with this important role, and to my family for their endless support.”
Sargent is expected to assume his new role on Feb. 5.
