Firefighters respond to two encampment fires in Halifax

Headlines News encampment fireJan. 22, 2024, Halifax – The investigation is ongoing into two separate encampment fires in the Halifax Regional Municipality on Monday. At about 6:30 a.m. Monday, one person sustained minor injuries after a fire at the tent encampment at Grand Parade in downtown Halifax. Assistant Chief of Operations Jim Stymiest told CityNews that crews were called to the scene to find a propane appliance and two lawn chairs on fire. Crews also discovered that flames damaged two propane tanks and one tent. CityNews reports. | READ MORE
