Equine Guelph is now providing online resources on barn fire prevention and large animal rescue for all first responders and fire departments across Ontario.

Designed to help large animal owners take preventative actions on their farms, the free “workshop in a box” contains PowerPoint presentations, checklists, links and quizzes, to aid in a comprehensive barn fire prevention workshop for farm owners.

Equine Guelph also offers on-going Large Animal Emergency Rescue training sessions, as well as a large animal rescue resource kit that includes online resources to reference after training completion.

Chief Scott Granahan of Rideau Lakes Fire Rescue said in a press release, “Many commendations have been made by past participants thanking the instructors for coming and providing important training on the use of specialized rescue equipment to significantly mitigate risks and improve the odds of a favorable outcome for both animals and responders in rescue situations.”
