New Orillia bylaw allows fire department to recover costs for its services

Headlines News fire departmentFeb. 21, 2024, Orillia, Ont. – Orillia Fire is now permitted to recover costs from the city’s residents — through their insurance — for some of the emergency services it provides. Since coming into effect Jan. 1, Bylaw 2023-124 allows the fire department to recover costs from residents for vehicle accidents and collisions, as well as structure fires.
