There was good news from a bad situation on Sunday when firefighters in Maple Ridge, B.C., were responding to a car accident. Maple Ridge Engine 1 hit black ice and the apparatus ended up on its side after hitting a hydro pole.
Fortunately, the four firefighters in the truck were wearing seatbelts and were not injured. You can read the Maple Ridge department’s report on the incident here.
If you missed Peter Sells’ FlashPoint column on seatbelts in the November issue of Fire Fighting in Canada you can read it here.
